we need each other; we need people; we need community; we need relationship; we need God. they are all interconnected, and it flows in both directions.
we try to fill our vacuum for God with people, and we find ourselves frustrated and empty.
when we turn to God, we find our hearts open to people and discover our need for them more than ever before.

I thought it was super, super amazing that I FINALLY found a friend of mine on Facebook! I've known Esther back in 2003; and the last email I received from her was in 2004. Ever since then, I sent her emails and occasionally snail mails, but after some time, I couldn't get through her inbox. I really did not know how to reach her (the last time I knew, she was in Australia), so I just kept sending her emails but they were always rejected.
It never dawned upon me for quite some time until yesterday, when I suddenly remembered her and all the sweet memories I had of her -- how she took such GREAT care of me at camp when I was sick; and how she told me that "attitude matters the most". She has been such a lovely friend, and I knew at that moment that I needed to find her! So, I tried Facebook and entered her email and her name, but to no avail. Then I remembered she got married, but unfortunately, I did not know her husband's last name :( So, I ran through all the YWAMers that I knew, knew Esther; until FINALLY, I found a profile picture that looks like her. So, I did something I'd never do -- I sent that person a message asking if she's the Esther I knew.
And yes, she replied saying she is!!! :) I was so EXCITED!!!!!!!! I lost touch with her for 4 years, and finally we manged to reconnect.

xxoo...
Jesus, I thank You for each one of my friends around the world. I thank You that they're unique and special. I thank You that You've blessed my friendship with them.
