Birthday fit for a KING

Blessed Birthday Jesus!

Blessed Christmas to all.

Today is Jesus' birthday; and the BEST gift we can ever give Him is US!
May the words of this children's song be the prayer of our hearts this Christmas Day!

"I'm gonna wrap up myself for Christmas

And tie me with a big red bow.

That's what I'm giving to Jesus.

It's a present He'll like I know."

Be Blessed! ;)

A Date to Remember

I went on a date today. ;) Yes, you read right. A date. We took a walk around my housing area. It was drizzling a little, but we did not care because everything seems right. The conversations we had, they were awesome. We talked about everything - from daily matters to world issues. At one point, I nearly cried because He whispered into my ears that he LOVES me a lot, that nothing can change that. It was an amazing time although it was only about an hour. But we said that we'll meet up again for dinner tomorrow. I'm looking forward to spending time with him again.

Just in case you're curious who's this guy I went on a date with, his name is Jesus. You should go on a date with Him too... I'm really sure He's waiting for you. ;) Have fun.

Love compels

What love is this that compels God to give His only Son to die on the cross for our sins?

During this Christmas season, take some time out and reflect on what love truly is.

I'm so glad that I had a wonderful Sunday. Church service was really good; and I was really humbled by what the pastor shared. I had some time with Annabel; where we took a walk to Oak Bay Marina. The view of the ocean was just awesome. With strong winds blowing, we could see strong waves coming in. As I stood and look, it dawned upon me about how amazing God is. He created these - the strong winds, the waves, the scenery, everything; and while it scares me to death just thinking what would happen if I'm shipwrecked in the middle of the ocean; I'm also humbled because I know with just ONE word God can still everything. God is really amazing.

I want to share this really wonderful song with you. Download and listen to it; and be blessed by it.

Thank You for Giving
to The Lord

Music & Lyrics by Ray Boltz

I dreamed I went to Heaven, you were there with me.
We walked upon the streets of gold beside the Crystal Sea.
We heard the angels singing, then someone called your name.
You turned and saw this young man, and he was smiling as he came.

He said, "Friend you may not know me now," and then he said, "But wait -
You used to teach my Sunday School, when I was only eight.
And every week you would say a prayer before the class would start.
And one day when you said that prayer,
I asked Jesus in my heart."

Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am a life that was changed.
Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am so glad you gave.

Then another man stood before you, he said "Remember the time,
A missionary came to your church, His pictures made you cry.
You didn't have much money but you gave it anyway.
Jesus took that gift you gave
And that's why I'm in Heaven today"

Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am a life that was changed.
Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am so glad you gave.

One by one they came, far as your eyes could see.
Each life somehow touched by your generosity.
Little things that you had done, sacrifices that you made,
They were unnoticed on this earth
        In Heaven now proclaimed.

Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am a life that was changed.
Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am so glad you gave.

And I know up in Heaven you're not supposed to cry
But I am almost sure there were tears in your eyes
As Jesus took your hand and you stood before the Lord
He said "My child look around you,
        Great is your reward."

Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am a life that was changed.
Thank you for giving to the Lord,
I am so glad you gave,
I am so glad you gave.

Christmas and Jesus

Many times during the Christmas season, we tend to get so caught up with the hustle and bustle of trying to find the "perfect" gift for someone. And we lose our focus on what Christmas really means. I, for one, can testify to this. It's not that Christmas isn't about giving, it IS, just that we have to remember what Christmas is all about. Think about this:
"This Christmas, think about what you would like to give to Jesus"
After all, it is His Birthday. We many times buy gifts for everyone, but we forgot about the birthday boy Himself.
This Christmas, let us take a moment and ponder on what Christmas really is; and what "GIVING" really is.

Winston Churchill said, "We make a living through what we get, but we make a life through what we give."

And giving doesn't have to depend on our budgets or checkbooks or whatever. Giving comes straight from the heart.

I know that this Christmas is a different Christmas for me - not because I'm in a different country or whatsoever; but that I began to think on what it REALLY means to give. As the years go by, I get so wrapped up with "Oh, I must get the BEST Christmas gift for ... and for ..." and I lost the essence of Christmas. This year I learned that Christmas is STILL about giving, but a different kind of giving - one that comes straight from the heart and reaches to the heart of the receiver.

Make this Christmas be your best Christmas by receiving His gift of Love, by giving yourself to Him and by sharing His love with others. Search for Him in every face. Watch for Him throughout each day and may this be a joy-filled Christmas and the beginning of a joy-filled year! (Mary Southerland)
