Proverbs 18:24
A man of many companions may come to ruin,
but there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.
Isn't it amazing that we can trust the wounds of our Lord?
We are all surrounded daily by people we call friends; they can be either our acquaintances, social friends, close friends, or best friends.
Only in the circle of our best friends can criticisms be given and received.
Think of Jesus -- our best friend -- and I'm sure we've at one time or another, hear a word of rebuke from Him. And, many times, we do a self check and to allow Him to do the healing. I think it is amazing that we can trust His wounds (the rebukes).
Likewise, I think we should also be open to receive criticisms and/or rebukes from our best friends on earth.
It is through TLC (tender loving care) and timely and wisely correction do we grow in our spiritual walk.
I thank God for friends -- whom I've learned to call my family -- who have been lovingly "wounding" me and helping me to grow spiritually.
