Blessed Thanksgiving
Hey all,
Another short (I hope) update from me... =]
Today is the end of my so-called long weekend. Today's Thanksgiving, and yeah, back home, we don't celebrate Thanksgiving. So, it was a good experience celebrating my first thanksgiving here in Victoria. =] Initially, I thought that well, maybe I'll whip up something and go over to my friend's place and the both of us can celebrate thanksgiving... Haha... Sounds really sad, but yeah. =) Anyway, when I attended IVCF (Christian Fellowship) on Friday, one of my friends invited me over for a thanksgiving dinner! Yay! So yes, I celebrated thanksgiving with a whole bunch of CF friends! It was awesome! There was so much food, that there were leftovers - something like the miracle Jesus did; feeding the 5 thousand! :) Hehe... We had turkey, potatoes, salads, squash, and many other stuff that I don't know, which by the way, I courageously took a little of it and ate it! Haha... ;) And we had different types of pies for dessert - and I LOVE the chocolate pecan pie with whip cream! It was awesome! ;) Yeah! Hehe.. I've not eaten so much in one sitting since I got to Victoria! Seriously! Haha... So yeah, I'm so thankful that I managed to experience a wonderful thanksgiving with my friends. =] We had fun fellowshipping too... So that was sweet. =]
Apart from the thanksgiving dinner, I was so "hardworking" today! I can't believe what I did... I diligently woke up early, washed my bedsheets, and pillow covers, vacuumed my whole room, ironed my 4 weeks of laundry (Mum, yes, I feel ashamed for not ironing my clothes for 4 weeks! But I can't help it - the iron I had could not worked, so I managed to get a brand new (and cheap) iron from Wal-Mart yesterday), cleaned all the tables in my room, and yes, my room is spotless! Haha... I'm amazed at myself! I so did not planed to do what I did. Anyway, it was awesome! Hehe... While I was cleaning my room and stuff, I was thankful that my parents and grandparents made me to things which I disliked while I was back home. It all came into practice here. So, yeah, am really thankful for all the training I had back home. Yes, mum, I'll not complain anymore... Hehe... ;)
Owh, and just a little update. I attended a thanksgiving concert last night at church. It was by Gary and Jan Beesley, associates of Benny Hinn. Man, they were good! They could sing! It was amazing! =] And the songs that they sang really ministered to me. I'm really glad I was there. Also, this coming Sunday, I'm attending another concert by Robin Mark and Paul Baloche. It's gonna be awesome! =] I can't wait for Sunday to come... Hehe... ;)
Owh, and another wonderful happened today at the thanksgiving dinner. I was talking to one of my friends from IVCF, and she was asking me how I came to accept the Lord, and so I told her... And I was telling her how I was involved in the worship ministry when I was in Labuan. So she asked me if I was gonna be involved in Glad Tidings. I told her yeah, because I felt that it is TIME for me to start serving the Lord again after like, 2 years not doing anything in church! And then she asked me if I wanted to do something that has to do with the worship ministry in IVCF. Instantly, I said YES!!! I'd like to do the overhead projector! That is my area of specialty because when I was in Labuan, that was what I did in church. =] So, yes, thank God that I'm starting somewhere... Something small, by hey! I'm not complaining... =) I'm actually really glad and I'm still happy that I'm so not feeling tired although it's getting late here... Haha... ;p
Owh, and I forgot... I actually, finally made my way to Chinatown... Haha.. I'm so proud of myself. Unfortunately, I'm so not proud of Chinatown because the Chinatown here is less than a block! I'm dead serious! It's like, before you can say Chinatown, you're at the end of it! (I might be exaggerating... hehe.. but the point is, it's really, really SMALL). It's so funny... I have to say that. I'll snap a picture of Chinatown and post it here... I did not manage to take any pictures of it because it was raining that day. Bummer... So yes, my tour of Chinatown ended in less than 15 minutes. Dad, was it this small when you were here? Haha... ;p My dad graduated from UVic, so, he knows all about Victoria, and this is cool because he actually prepared me before I left Malaysia... It's awesome! It's like, I can ask him anything... "daddy, do you...; and daddy, last time,... and daddy, how to get to..." My dad is awesome! And he was more excited than me when I got accepted into UVic... I know he really wants to come back to Victoria, so yes, he's gonna get that wish fulfilled when I graduate... Hehe.. Imagine how awesome it'd be... going unto the podium where your dad stepped on when he graduated years ago! Sweet! =) hehe...
Geesh, it wasn't a short update after all... I hope you guys did not FAINT while reading it... Sorry
